By First Time Parents
We were using a Jeep brand stroller before this one came in the mail. WOW, what a difference !! It's only a little bit smaller in size but it feels like it's only half the weight and is much more compact. I say it's the "Combi Flare" of the jogging stroller world. The basket underneath the seat is reasonable and so are the cup holders and little storage area near them for your small items. It's a very, very smooth ride over small rocks and dirt. The only thing I dislike about it is that it's not entirely covered in the back like the Jeep jogger was but it is very ventilated. Sometimes at certain angles the sun still is bright from the side or behind, on a hot and sunny day it might not be great because of sunburn. Just bring a little blanket of some sort to fix that, it's not been a big deal since it's so minimal.Putting it together initially is very easy and quick. We are very impressed with this product, it delivered to our high expectations. This is certainly a good one for smaller cars such as the Pontiac Vibe, a sports Ford Explorer, or PT Cruiser.

First off I got a much better deal at target, someone returned it from an Internet order and it was $100. For $100 it is fantastic. Not so sure about paying $160 though. What I really like, honestly the color, love the grey and purple. That the front wheel swivels and can also be locked in place. This makes a jogger so much more versatile. It isn't huge either when folded or unfolded. The size is nice, and it fits well in the back of vehicles as well as in between racks of clothes at the mall unlike some joggers. I'm not a hardcore runner so this is a perfect stroller for me to use running, walking, hiking, and for the store. I love that it works for both purpose, eliminating the need for multiple strollers. The ride is very smooth. The canopy is small, but adjusts forward enough to keep kids dry in the rain. It comes with a plastic cup holder. You don't have to use it; it Is removable. I like to you don't have to buy it extra. The seatbelt straps are very easy to snap together, a big improvement over their older models, and much better than any other stroller I've owned, Bob, bugaboo, maclaren, etc. I am not in constant worry I will pinch my or baby's fingers when clicking her in. The unclicking is even easier. Can be done one handed. They greatly improved the ease of the folding mechanisms also. This is the reason I had to get a new one, my old one stopped folding completely. Too bad cause otherwise it was still very nice.Dislikes: the lock on the folding mechanism is plastic. I can see this getting broken in the near future. They used to be metal and sturdy. The brakes are also plastic and individual per each back wheel. It takes longer to set and undo individual brakes and I don't see the benefit. The old ones have a large metal bar you pressed with your foot and it controlled for both breaks. I preferred that to the new style. The grips on the handlebar are sticky feeling. I'm not crazy about either the plastic cup holder or the plastic tray. The cup holder is ok and I like the little compartment or keys and phone, it is generous in size and will keep them from bouncing out on a hike or jog. The try isn't all that great and we are finding it hard to snap in and remove it. It also catches my baby's legs when I take her out. I wish they included a simple bar across to use across the front as an alternative.

Caveat - no marathoner here... My goal is a 5k in 30 minutes and I'm nowhere close yet. But the key is that this stroller completely elminates the excuse of what to do with my 10-month-old so I can exercise - it is so little effort to open the stroller, put her in, and push it! Nice surprise was that the stroller came much more assembled than I thought it would be - the front wheel and fender were already on, and rear wheels were simple snap-on. This is how it was packaged by the manufacturer Baby Trend, even though the instruction book included assembly of the front wheel, etc. It took me maybe 15 minutes to remove the stroller the from box, and add the rear wheels and trays. I spent about another 10 minutes reviewing the instructions to learn how to close the stroller, use it safely, and lock the front wheel in straight-ahead position for running, since it this is my first jogging stroller. It is a bit bulky when folded, but hey, that's why moms of small children like minivans, and actually, it's not that much bigger than the other non-umbrella strollers we have. I have two older children, and I wish I had tried a jogging stroller with them rather than paying for a gym with a nursery. I still think jogging strollers are too big to use in crowded public places, but it certainly is worth the space it takes up in our house so that I can get out and jog with so little fuss. I especially love that my baby girl can go along, enjoy the view, and soak up the vitamin D instead of playing indoors and catching the latest germ that is going around at great expense. I got the gray and purple color - just FYI for moms of boys, it is a deep eggplant purple very close to the photo, so it's pretty gender-neutral. Perhaps a diehard runner needs a higher-end model or brand, but so far (6 days out of 7!!), I am very happy with the Baby Trend Expedition LX for my modest jogs!
